Dal 5 al 9 dicembre 2018 si terrà presso il Conservatorio di Napoli San Pietro a Majella la prima edizione dell'International Piano Competition ‘The Neapolitan Masters’
La competizione è dedicata ai Maestri della Scuola Napoletana e nasce con lo scopo di restituire centralità nel mondo musicale e culturale alla città di Napoli.
Divisa per fasce d'età e fasi eliminatorie, è inserita nel circuito dei concorsi internazionali riconosciuti dalla prestigiosa Alink-Argerich Foundation, avrà in giuria concertisti di chiara fama tra i quali Alexey Bogorad del Teatro Bolshoi di Mosca e Giuseppe Devastato (Global Music Awards di Los Angeles) .
Il primo premio sarà dedicato al grande Pianista Napoletano Sergio Fiorentino, le borse di studio ( 7000 €) ed i concerti in italia ed all’Estero rappresenteranno per i partecipanti un’importante trampolino di lancio per la carriera.

RULES
The Associazione Mousikè organizes the International Piano Competition ' The Neapolitan Masters' in the Conservatory of Music 'San Pietro a Majella' in Naples - Italy, in Dicember 2018 from 5 to 9. The Competition is official member of the Alink-Argerich Fundation.
The categories are:
Junior(A-B) - Young (A-B) - 'The Neapolitan Masters Prize'
Junior Category A: ages 10 and under
Maximum 7 minutes. The music program is free
Junior Category B: ages 11 – 13
Maximum 10 minutes. The music program is free
Young Category A: ages 14 – 16
Maximum 15 minutes. The music program is free
Young Category B: ages 17 – 19
Maximum 20 minutes. The music program is free
'The Neapolitan Masters Prize': ages 16 - 36 or less at the time of the competition
PRE-SELECTION with VIDEO RECORDING: The recording should contain a free program, maximum duration 15 minutes
Editing of the recordings is not allowed, but separate works or movements can be from different takes.

The winners of the Alink Argerich International Competitions (1,2 and 3 Prize) and other recognised competitions, will go directly to the semifinal round of the “The Neapolitan Masters” Competition.
Code of Ethics
The pianists who within the last two years have studied on a regular basis with any member of the 2018 International Jury, or with the Artistic Director of the competition, or with any other person currently employed by the International Piano Competition The Neapolitan Masters, are ineligible to participate at the Neapolitan Masters Prize section.
A maximum of 50 candidates will be admitted to the 1st round
SEMIFINAL Free choice recital. Maximum length: 15 minutes.
It is not obligatory, but recommended to include at least one pice written by the Neapolitan composer Giuseppe Devastato (President of the jury) in this round or in final round, for Special Prize offred by Giuseppe Devastato
FINAL Free choice recital. Maximum length: 40 minutes.
Be allowed repeat works performed in the first round.
The repertoire will consist of works chosen by the pianist and one or more works (minimum length: 5 minutes ) of the Neapolitan Composers. When deciding the Prize for the Best Neapolitan Music Performer the jury will take into account if you include in the final program a work by a Neapolitan Composer of your choice of the 18th, 19th, or 20st Century. It’s possible to play one by one of the Neapolitan Composers: D. Scarlatti, F. Durante, D. Cimarosa, C. Palumbo, A. Longo, G. Martucci, S. Thalberg etc
The Prize for the Best Neapolitan Masters Music Performer can be given to any participant who doesn’t pass to the Final Round.
The non-refundable application fees are as follow:
• Junior Category A: €60
• Junior Category B: €70
• Young Category A: €80
• Young Category B: €90
• The Neapolitan Masters Prize: €120 (for Pre-Selection with Video Recording)

The candidates must send the video with payment before the 9 November 2018

1st Classified
The winner of the “The Neapolitan Masters Prize” will be offered:
A scholarship ‘Sergio Fiorentino’ of € 1000, offered by AMP PISANI SRL
To perform in China in the following concert season, as part of an exchange with “Beijing Heyday Century Culture Development Company” China.
The opportunity to perform in Rome (Italy) with the Orchestra in the following concert season, as part of an exchange with the “Opera in Roma Symphony Orchestra”.
The opportunity of contract with ‘Da Vinci Edition’ with scholarship of € 700 for production costs
The opportunity to perform in Naples (Italy) in the official concert season of the Conservatory
The opportunity to will be invited in international music festival partners.
2nd Classified
The 2nd Classified of the “The Neapolitan Masters Prize”will be invited:
To perform as part of a concert organized by Shigeru Kawai Center in Spain
To perform as part of a concert in Parador Nacional de Javea in “Javea’s Moon International Piano Festival”
To be invited in international music festival partners.
3rd Classified
The 3rd Classified of the “The Neapolitan Masters Prize”will be invited:
To perform as part ofa concert organized by Associazione Musicale G.B. Pergolesi at ‘Teatro Garibaldi’ in S.M.Capua Vetere – Italy
To perform as part of a concert organized by Associazione Mousikè in Napoli – Italy
Best performer of the Neapolitan composer
Win a scholarship of € 500,00
Best performer of the Russian composer
Win a scholarship of € 500,00 offered by Elena Selezneva
Best performer of the Devastato composer
Win a scholarship of € 500,00 offered by Giuseppe Devastato
Young & Junior Category
The following scholarship will be awarded to the winners of each respective category:
Young
Category A: ages 14 – 16
Will win a prize of € 350,00
Category B: ages 17 – 19
Will win a prize of € 400,00
A Concert offered by Associazione Mousikè
A free Masterclass with Giuseppe Devastato
Category A e B:
Special Prize of € 200,00 for the best student of music high schools in Italy
Junior
Category A: ages 10 and under

1. A candidacy will only be confirmed after we have received you application fee.
2. The decision of the jury is final and will not be subjected to reviews or appeals.
3. All rounds are open to the public.
4. It is recommended to play the program from memory.
5. It is NOT possible to change the program after submission.
6. The organizers reserve the right to record all the performances during the competition, for use at their own discretion for radio and television broadcasts, or other purposes. Each candidate, upon submission of their application, will renounce all rights, fees and claims regarding such recordings, films and broadcasts.
7. All contestants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult who will carry full responsibility over the minor at all times during the competition period. If the adult is not the contestant’s parents, a permission note (signed) must be submitted by at least one of the parents with the application.
8. All travel costs such as tickets and visas, are to be carried out by the participant. The participants are solely responsible to apply for their own visa however an invitation letter will be available by the International Piano Competition “The Neapolitan Masters” upon request. Visa requirements are to be requested at the respective embassy or consulate.
9. Contestants are also responsible for their own accommodation costs. A list of possible accommodations near the premise of the competition will be included in the info package sent to each accepted candidate.
10. The competition will not be held responsible/liable for the consequences of any accidents or incidents involving the contestants
11. The name of the candidate’s teacher/professor will not be printed in the program for the jury.
12. If a candidate is studying with a member of the jury, this particular jury member will not be allowed to vote for their student.
13. Rules may be subject to change without notice.
