Paolo Taballione nasce a Roma nel 1981. Nel 2008 vince il Concorso per Primo flauto nell’Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, nell’Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna e dal settembre dello stesso anno è il Primo Flauto Solista della “Bayerische Staatsoper” di Monaco di Baviera. Si diploma, nel 2001 al Conservatorio “S. Cecilia” di Roma col massimo dei voti e la lode, e si perfeziona con i più grandi flautisti del panorama internazionale: J.C. Gerard, M. Larrieu, W. Schultz. Prosegue gli studi in Svizzera al “Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Genève” nella classe del M° J. Zoon, ottenendo brillantemente nel 2007 il “Diplôme de Soliste avec Distinction” all’unanimità. Vincitore, sin da giovanissimo, di numerosi concorsi solistici nazionali ed internazionali, nel 2004 vince il Primo Premio al prestigioso Concorso Internazionale per la Musica del XX e XXI secolo per Flauto ed Ottavino “V.Bucchi” (primo ed unico vincitore italiano nella storia del concorso) e nel 2005 si aggiudica il Primo Premio all’Unanimità al Concorso Solistico Internazionale “D. Cimarosa” con M. Larrieu presidente di giuria. Nel 2004 viene scelto dal M° R. Muti come Primo Flauto dell’ Orchestra Sinfonica Giovanile “L.Cherubini”. Sotto la sua direzione esordisce in veste di solista, ottenendo un grande successo. La sua intensa attivitá solistica e cameristica lo porta ad esibirsi nelle più importanti sale europee come il Musikverein di Vienna, Gasteig di Monaco di Baviera, Philarmonie di Berlino, Concertgebouw di Amsterdam, Parco della Musica di Roma, Beethovensaal di Stoccarda. Collabora come primo flauto con numerose orchestre quali Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala di Milano, Orchestra dell´Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Münchner Philarmoniker, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Human Rights Orchestra sotto la direzione di prestigiose bacchette tra le quali L. Maazel, Z. Mehta, R. Muti, K. Nagano, Y. Temirkanov. Regolarmente invitato a tenere Concerti, Corsi e Masterclasses presso molteplici istituzioni musicali europee, dal 2009 collabora con il MusicarivaFestival come docente di Flauto nei corsi estivi. All’intensa attività flautistica affianca, dal 1998, lo studio della Composizione, disciplina in cui si è diplomato nel 2008, nella classe del M° F. Carotenuto al Conservatorio “S. Cecilia” di Roma, con il massimo dei voti.

Paolo Taballione was born in Rome in 1981. In 2008 he won the Solo Flute audition at the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, at the Orchestra of Teatro Comunale in Bologna and in September of the same year he obtained the Solo Flute role at the Bavarian State Orchestra in Munich. After graduating in 2001 at the Conservatory “S. Cecilia” in Rome with the highest marks plus distinction, he took part in Masterclasses and Courses with J. C. Gerard, M. Larrieu, W. Schultz. He continued his musical studies in the class of J. Zoon at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Genève, obtaining in 2007 the “Diplôme de Soliste avec Distinction”. He has won several national and international competitions for solo flute such as in 2004 the 1st prize at the International Competition for the music of 20th and 21st Century for Flute and Piccolo “V. Bucchi” in Rome, (first and only Italian winner in the history of the Competition) and in 2005 the 1st prize unanimously at the International Flute Competition “D. Cimarosa” in Aversa, with M. Larrieu president of the Jury. In 2004 he was chosen by R. Muti as Solo Flute of the “Youth Symphony Orchestra L. Cherubini“. Taballione started here also his soloist career under Muti’s direction with big success. His intense soloist and as chamber music player activity has made him perform in the most important and prestigious theatres and music halls such as Musikverein in Vienna, Gasteig in Munich, Philharmonie in Berlin, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Parco della Musica in Rome, Beethovensaal in Stuttgart. He has been working as Solo Flute with several orchestras such as the Scala Philharmonic Orchestra, the Accademia Nazionale of Santa Cecilia Orchestra, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Human Rights Orchestra, under prestigious conductors such as L. Maazel, Z. Mehta, R. Muti, K. Nagano Y. Temirkanov. Taballione has been regularly invited to hold concerts, courses and masterclasses by several important European music Institutions and since 2009 he has been teacher for the Flute course during musicaRivafestival in Riva del Garda. Nearby his flutist career, in 1998 he began Composition’s studies at Conservatory “Santa Cecilia” in Rome, graduating in the class of M.° F. Carotenuto with the highest marks in 2008.
